St. Mark’s has several groups that meet together to enhance our common life in Christ. There are also several opportunities to serve inside of St. Mark’s or through one of our outreach ministries.
Reaffirming the promises made at Baptism and Confirmation, a Daughter pledges herself to a life-long program of prayer, service and evangelism. She receives support in this commitment from a worldwide community of like-minded women. In solidarity with one another, all Daughters everywhere make the same promises upon their admission to the Order:
- To obey the two Rules of The Order: the Rule of Prayer and the Rule of Service.
- To offer at all times loyal aid to our clergy and parish to spread Christ’s kingdom.
- To wear faithfully the cross of The Order.
- To work for the purposes of The Order as God may give us the opportunity.
More information about The Daughters of the King is available at http://www.doknational.org/, or stop one of the women wearing the cross in the seal above.
The Society is an adventure group out of St. Mark’s that celebrates fellowship in the midst of hiking, biking, camping, coffee shops, restaurants, taverns, theological study, and other events around the Dallas/Fort Worth Area. Find out about coming events through MeetUp at https://www.meetup.com/meetup-group-TheSociety/.
The Cursillo Movement
St. Mark’s has several people active in the Cursillo Movement, which equips Christians through small groups to build friendships and encourage one another in disciplines of piety, study, and Apostolic action. At times these groups come together in larger groups called an Ultreya, where they can hear about ways that others are working to shine the light of Christ as they live, work, play, shop, etc. All are welcome to participate in Cursillo groups or Ultreya meetings to find out more. Contact the Parish Office for more information.
St. Mark’s also hosts The Cursillo Workroom, a place where volunteers from the Dallas / Fort Worth area come to support the Movement, and Fr. Bob is the current Executive Director of the Movement for our Diocese.
