Confirmation is the rite in which we express a mature commitment to Christ, and receive strength from the Holy Spirit through prayer and the laying on of hands by a bishop. (The Book of Common Prayer, 1979.)
Through Holy Baptism an individual is initiated into the Body of Christ, the Church. Confirmation involves preparation so that a person can make a mature confession of faith in Jesus Christ as Lord and commit to take an active part in the ministry of the Church. For individuals baptized as infants, Confirmation is a time to take ownership of their walk with Christ.
Confirmation preparation is offered by Fr. Bob. The course of study is 12-15 weeks covering the fundamental tenants of the Christian faith. Contact the Parish Office for more information or to register.
